Book Trailers

I've seen a great impact with indie authors creating a trailer for their book. It doesn't have to be anything fancy like the movie trailers you see but it's another way for readers to connect with your story.

Things to keep in mind when creating your own trailer:
- Be sure not to use photos without the photographers permission, rather use your own photos or photos purchased from the web (normally you can purchase photos for under $1.00)
- If applying music to your trailer, again use it with permission
- Don't make the trailer to long, remember people aren't here to watch a movie, just get a better understanding of your book. Let people get lost in what you have created!

It might seem like it is a lot of work to put together a trailer and I am not saying that it isn't but for Indie authors it's a great way to save on costs with your marketing and advertising. You can pay someone to make a video for you but be ready to spend some money.

Now for those authors who are not as technologically savvy as others, here is a great way you may be able to have a trailer made for you for free. Yes, I did say free. There are numerous students out there in computer design etc. why not post an add in your local classifieds or at the local secondary educational institutes in your town looking to have someone make a trailer for your as a volunteer basis. This way you have a trailer made for you and in return the students gets experience and can even add your trailer to their portfolio. Another win win for both parties!
